🌍 Bringing an Old AHU Up to Modern Standards: Environmental Upgrade at One of Our Client's Sites

At Mattair Maintenance Ltd, we’ve successfully completed a major upgrade of the Air Handling Unit (AHU), bringing it up to modern environmental and efficiency standards. Our technical team was on site to oversee the commissioning of the upgraded system. 

🔧 What We Did: 

  • EC Fan Upgrade: We replaced the old fixed-speed belt-driven fans with high-efficiency EC motors. These fans now feature speed control, enabling variable fan speeds based on demand, with the option to add CO2 control in the future. This upgrade significantly reduces the Specific Fan Power (SFP) and improves overall energy efficiency. 
  • New DX Coil Installation: We replaced the existing DX coil and installed an inverter-controlled condenser with heat pump technology to enhance performance and efficiency, contributing to a more environmentally friendly system with a lower carbon footprint. 
  • Modern Refrigerant: By switching to R32 refrigerant, the system now benefits from a reduced Global Warming Potential (GWP) compared to the previous refrigerant, further minimizing its environmental impact. 
  • System Cleaning and Fan Guards: As part of the upgrade, we performed a thorough cleaning of the AHU to ensure peak efficiency and installed fan guards for enhanced safety and protection.
